This piece blew my mind when I came upon it— it is so rare to find pieces of this age in such flawless condition! It was made during the Victorian era, entirely of handmade lace and ribbons, in the most ethereal shade of ivory. In the Victorian era, women would wear something like this overtop a corset, but it looks so current worn over a pretty bralette, paired with jeans, more lace, or really anything! The ribbons tie to close it, and they can be adjusted or worn open in places.
Measurements: This piece is petite (it used to be worn over a corset that creates a much smaller frame) but due to the ribbon, it is adjustable and some can be worn open. It will work best for a modern size XS or smaller.
Chest: 29" worn entirely closed (can be adjusted by opening/loosening some ribbons)
Waist: 20" worn if bottom ribbons are entirely closed, up to about 25" when they are left open or looser, which is a normal way to wear it)
Strap drop: 5"
The piece is in remarkable antique condition considering it is over 150 years old. There is some general wear to the ribbon, but nothing problematic.
